The Top 10 Cars in the NFL

Written by Cory Lowe | Fri, Jan 03, 2014 @ 01:00 PM

Successful NFL players are notorious for flashy purchases, especially expensive and unique cars. For many young men making millions in professional football, a high profile vehicle is a symbol of achieving a lifelong dream. The best cars in the NFL are a range of rare exotic sports cars and luxurious, but somewhat less conspicuous, sedans and SUVs.

Classic Cars

A NFL player’s car doesn't need to be the newest model to turn heads. Classic muscle cars and luxury sedans are the vehicle of choice for a number of football players with money to spend.

Free agent Leonard Pope owns a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice customized with large chrome rims and Lamborghini doors.

Chicago Bears kick returner Devin Hester certainly gets plenty of attention in his yellow 70’s era Chevrolet Impala which is customized with Louis Viton logos on the interior and body.

An especially unique classic car is driven by Darren McFadden of the Oakland Raiders. McFadden drives a sugary purple 1972 Buick Centurion with bright green rims that match its green interior.

Exotic Cars and Sports Cars

Exotic sports cars may not be the most practical choices for driving through city streets, but that doesn't stop NFL players from spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to own one.

Tom Brady of the New England Patriots drives a red Audi R8. The sleek sports car is fast and highly sought after. However, compared to other NFL cars in this category, Brady’s Audi nearly seems humdrum.

Patrick Willis, middle linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers, drives a slick black 2013 Aston Martin DB9 highlighted with bright red accents on the body, rims, wheels, and interior.

Retired player Randall Gay has been photographed standing proudly beside his white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Gay’s exotic sports car is crisp white with custom white and red rims.

Another retired player with a flashy exotic car is Thomas Jones, who owns a yellow and black Lamborghini Murcielago.

Late Model Luxury Sedans

Many celebrity drivers and NFL players spend top money to finance cars, which usually consist of the best late model luxury sedans on the market. Large, comfortable, and packed with accessories and upgrades, the luxury sedans driven by professional football players are no less impressive than more conspicuous exotic vehicles.

JaMarcus Russell had a very short NFL career, but he made a lasting impression with his Bentley Flying Spur. The silver 2013 four-door luxury sedan is sleek, modern, and lavish.

Larry Fitzgerald, receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, drives an intensely red 2013 BMW 7-Series on custom wheels.

Legendary retired NFL running back Fred Taylor combines the flamboyance of exotic cars with the size and comfort of luxury sedans with his deep green 2013 Mercedes-Benz CL that sits on matching green rims.

The best cars in the NFL are expensive status symbols meant to turn heads and make grand entrances. Current and former football players remain infamous for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on attention grabbing vehicles.
