Five, four, three, two, one—Happy 2016! It’s hard to believe another year has almost gone by. After all, 2015 will be over in a couple weeks and you’ll be moving into a fresh new year of goals, resolutions and opportunities. That means it’s time to start planning your celebration, because what better way is there to ring in the New Year than with a fantastic night out with friends? Houston has quite a few offerings this year. It’s time to polish up your ride and head out for a big night on the town.
H-Town Countdown 2016
Silver Street Studios at 2000 Edwards Street offers a memorable party that includes everything in a single inclusive ticket. One thing that makes H-Town Countdown standout is its block of rooms waiting for partygoers at Hilton Americas-Houston. Load up your car with friends, park at the hotel, check in and get dolled/spruced up before you head over to the party.
Three levels of tickets are available. Choose from:
- All-inclusive wristband: Your entry, drinks and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight
- VIP ticket: The basics plus private bar and deck, lounge furniture, complimentary champagne and complimentary valet
- Bottle service ticket: The basics plus express entry, a private section with a table for up to 15 people, VIP hospitality, your own cocktail waitress, bottle of champagne for the midnight toast and complimentary valet
The night’s entertainment features DJ Tony Stiles, DJ Bizonee and A-Trak. The party is Thursday December 31st from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. You must be over 21 to drink, and this year the event offers four bars to cut down on drink lines. If you don’t stay downtown, make sure to designate your driver so you keep your ride and passengers safe.
The Midnight Kiss NYE hosted by 97.9 The Box
The popular Social Junkie sports bar is hosting an epic two-story party at 2412 Washington Avenue. Starting at 4 p.m. on the 31st and running until 3 a.m. January 1st, 2016, you can enjoy a DJ, dancing, champagne, light show and a warm, heated rooftop kiss at midnight. Entrance to the event is free. However, you’ll want to bring cash for bubbly drinks. Put on your dancing shoes, because the event is an ideal way to spend your New Year’s Eve.
All White Step Dance Party
The All White Step Dance Party will appeal to those who want to show off a few moves this New Year’s Eve. The event is for 21 and over only, and your ticket will include free food and a cash bar. This excellent party organized by Houston’s Ladies Night Out has top-notch entertainment from Algebra Blessett and Anthony David. The party includes everything from dinner, drinks and concert to party favors, champagne and an after party.
You have several ticket levels to choose from ranging from $70 to $1000, and at the top level your table of 10 gets bottle service. Houston’s Ladies Night Out events are geared toward a more upscale evening, and the 2nd annual NEO-SOUL New Year’s will not disappoint.
New Year’s Tips
Have the best New Year’s by taking into consideration a few tips and hints.
- Plan ahead – Avoid last-minute reservations and ideas. When you plan ahead, you’ll typically find the best prices and be able to secure tickets before they sell out. There’s no use driving around on the 31st trying to find a party.
- Think ahead – Do you think you’ll drink? Do you have a trusted friend to drive your ride around town stone cold sober? If not, will you pool your money for a hotel and park your beloved car there while you enjoy a wild night out? Think about it.
- Keep track of friends – If you’re going in a group, make sure you keep an eye on friends. Designate a responsible person to make sure your group stays together.
Make the start of 2016 memorable with these tips and one of these fine Houston New Year’s events.
