4 Places to Take Your Ride for Halloween 2018 in Houston

Posted by Shabana Motors - 18 October, 2017

Houston Halloween 2017

Somehow the summer crept by and suddenly, it’s October again. For many, October means a favorite holiday, one that allows people to slip out of their normal lives and put on a new character for a day. That could only mean Halloween. In Houston, there’s no shortage of options for people to get out and play. Several events are worthwhile, and there are four that should definitely be on your radar.

Something Wicked

This two-day event takes place October 28th and 29th. Located at The Asylum (aka the Sam Houston Race Park), partygoers 18 and over will find ample music and dancing. While general admission is the most popular option for this event that features some of the industry’s top electronic artists, there are other excellent tickets and add-ons to choose from as well:

  • VIP Admission – Includes express entrance, viewing deck access, private areas, front row pit, upgraded restrooms and a collectible laminate.
  • Reserved lockers
  • PixMob wristband
  • Spectified shades

Find all your tickets and extras on the Something Wicked website. You can also find the information you need there about this massive show and the talent making your Halloween wickedly memorable.

Houston Zombie Walk’s Halloween Fest

On Saturday October 21st, from 5 to 10 p.m. in Houston Heights, the all-inclusive Halloween Fest will give family members of all ages a thrill. Enjoy everything from live music, carnival and pumpkin patch to food, drink (for both kiddie and adults) and incredible entertainment. All it takes to gain entrance to this Spooktacular event is a ticket, which you can find here.

The evening’s tastiest ticket is for Richard Knight’s Last Supper, a 5-course family-style dinner, each course paired with the perfect drink. During the dinner is a pumpkin carving contest as well, so bring your creative juices and aim to go home $100 richer. Attendees for all parts of Halloween Fest are encouraged to come dressed in their best costume.

Houston Dynamo Carnival Freak Show

This Halloween, Fanatical Change is throwing what they consider an “adventurous” new event. On Friday, October 25th from 7 p.m.-2 a.m., join fellow guests at the BBVA Compass Stadium to enjoy live music from a number of DJs and plenty of food and drink. Other fun parts of this exciting fundraiser include:

  • Multiple photo booths
  • An auction
  • The company of Houston’s notable entrepreneurs and businesses

Tickets run between $40 and $600, and come dressed ready to celebrate Halloween.

Zoo Boo

Once again, the Houston Zoo is bringing back its annual Zoo Boo. This year will feature family favorites as well as new additions to the celebration. The first thing Zoo Boo goers need to know are the dates you can attend the event:

  • Friday – October 13, 20 and 27
  • Saturday and Sunday – 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29
  • The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all dates

The newest part of Zoo Boo is Zoovie nights, featuring spooky favorites on from 5-9 p.m. on the 13th and 21st. You can also visit the Fiesta Mart pumpkin patch, enjoy a monster masquerade, go through a not-so-spooky maze and explore mystery boxes. The event is ideal for the whole family, and costumes are welcome within the zoo’s guidelines. To find out more about this beloved event, visit the Houston Zoo website.

Great Costume Ideas

Although there are endless costume ideas available, it can be hard to narrow it down or stay within your budget. You can find an abundance of ideas online. For example, maybe you want to go in what is sure to be 2017’s most popular costumes. Perhaps you want a simple, straightforward classic. For those with some creative DIY genius, try something more elaborate. The key is to do a little research, and go with the costume that appeals to you.

Halloween in Houston has never been so fun, and once your costume is decided the next big challenge will be deciding which event—or events—to go to.
