The past couple of months in the life of Kanye West have been very interesting, to say the least. The rapper and father-to-be recently sat down for an interview with The New York Times and talked candidly about his career and public image. The self-proclaimed “Steve [Jobs] of Internet, downtown, fashion and culture” addressed his critics and said his music is a result of his status as an anti-celebrity.
Ye’s forthcoming album, entitled Yeezus, will be released on June 18. In addition to new music, West will soon have a new baby. He and girlfriend Kim Kardashian are expecting their first child together. Kardashian is due on July 11, which is reportedly the same day that England’s Duchess of Cambridge will give birth to her child.
We think Ye and Kim K. make a great couple because they have a lot in common. Take vehicles, for instance. They are both known for their sizable car collections.
In May 2012, Kardashian was spotted wheeling around L.A. in West’s $500,000 Mercedes SLR McLaren. At the time, the couple had just started dating. West apparently has no qualms about letting others borrow his cars. Or maybe he just didn’t learn his lesson the first time. In 2010, West lent his $115,000 black Porsche Panamera Turbo to a cousin. Shortly after it was reported stolen, the alleged thieves took the car for a joyride in Honolulu and ended up smashing it into the side of a multimillion dollar home at 4 in the morning. The Porsche was completely totaled. West wasn’t left without a ride, though. He is often seen with his Aston Martin DB9. It is his “practical,” everyday vehicle.
West had another auto mishap in May of this year. He had dropped off his $750,000 Lamborghini Aventador at the repair shop to get it serviced. When it was delivered to the Kardashian Kompound in Los Angeles, the electric front gate closed too fast and crushed both sides of the sedan. West’s car is busted, but it seems that KimYe’s relationship is still very much intact.
The luxury automobiles in Kardashian’s driveway are just as impressive as her beau’s. The brunette bombshell has had in her possession not one, but two Rolls Royce Ghosts. She purchased a $250,000 white Ghost last year and pimped it out with silver wheels that cost $7,000. She also dropped stacks on LED lights for the car’s front, as well as custom floor mats and paneling. In late 2012, she swapped out her white Ghost for a glossy black one that is valued at $400,000. It was featured in her E! reality show, Kourtney & Kim Take Miami. Kardashian likes the car so much that she had it shipped from Florida to her home in southern California after the show's production wrapped up.
Kim K. also has a $600,000 alpine white Ferrari 458 Italia, a red-and-black Bentley Continental GTC, a Range Rover HSE and a white 2007 Bentley Flying Spur that has a chin spoiler, rear spoiler, side and rear skirts, a two-tone interior, reclining backseats and an exhaust system that was custom-built. It is safe to say that Kardashian and her baby daddy are living the “Good Life.”
