Texas Black Expo
The Texas Black Expo is the largest and most event-packed African American festival in the state. Every year, scores of celebrities and influential public figures in the African American community flock to Houston, Texas to celebrate several days of concerts, seminars, and other exciting events. The 2014 Texas Black Expo featured the most jaw dropping lineup of musical acts and guest speakers, drawing a record breaking crowd to the June event. While this summer’s Texas Black Expo has come and gone, that means there is plenty of time to start planning next year’s expo fun.
Under the Influence Tour
Wiz Kahlifa is bringing his Under the Influence Tour to Texas for two dates, one in Dallas at the Gexa Energy Pavilion on August 14th and the other at the Woodlands Pavilion the following night on August 15th. The lineup for the concert includes not only the headliner Wiz Kahlifa but also Sage the Gemini, DJ Drama, Mack Wilds and other acts. The parking lots of both pavilions are bound to be packed with eye-catching rides suited to the flashy hip hop lineup and atmosphere of revelry surrounding the concerts.
Free Press Summer Festival
Every summer in Houston, Texas people from all over the state, and across the country, flock to the two day Free Press Summer Festival. An enormous lineup of Houston’s best musical acts and the top performers from all over the country draw throngs of enthusiastic fans. For the festival that took place from May 31st to June 1st, all of Houston’s most famous rappers hit the stage together; including Paul Wall, Mike Jones, and Slim Thug. The 2014 Free Press Summer Festival for 2014 may be over, but it is bound to be an amazing place to show off your ride and kick off the summer of 2015 next year.
On the Run Tour
The music industry’s favorite super-power couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce, are arriving in Texas this summer as part of their joint On the Run Tour. The couple’s epic summer tour started in Miami on June 25th and is slated to make its final appearance on the other side of the country on August 5th in San Francisco. Beyonce and Jay-Z will bring the On the Run Tour to Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas on July 18th.
