Celebrity Rides: Floyd Mayweather

Posted by Cory Lowe - 04 November, 2014

floyd mayweather carsFloyd Mayweather is the highest paid athlete on the planet, which is made abundantly clear by the boxer’s absurdly extravagant spending habits. Needless to say about a man who travels with a brief case full of hundred dollar bills in plastic bags, Floyd Mayweather has not one, but three, collections of luxurious color coordinated rides. Mayweather moves his collections between his properties in Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. A look at the highlights present in each of these collections paints a picture of an athlete in his prime spending the millions of dollars he is paid to fight and win.

2012 Bentley Mulsanne

Floyd Mayweather’s white 2012 Bentley Mulsanne is the second Mulsanne purchased by the star boxer. In the midst of a scandalous legal issue involving domestic abuse, Mayweather took to social media showing off pictures of his brand new white Bentley, which is kept in Miami far from his previously purchased black model which is at his home in Las Vegas. Without any upgrades, customization or optional features, the Bentley Mulsanne’s retail price is $290,000. A quick look at the matching white interior and Mayweather’s penchant for luxury, it is safe to assume his newest Mulsanne, and the black model he already owned, cost well above that base sticker price. The athlete’s Bentley mini-collection alone adds well over half a million dollars to the value of the fleet in which they are kept.

Rolls Royce Phantom and Phantom Drophead

Also part of Floyd Mayweather’s Miami based fleet of cars is his two white Rolls Royce Phantoms. Most sane people would ask, upon hearing the boxer purchased himself two of these large high-end luxury vehicles, why he needs or wants two. The answer is simple, one of them is the classic Phantom model and the other is the coveted Phantom Drophead coupe convertible. As the highest paid professional athlete around, Mayweather saw no need to choose between the hardtop and convertible Phantoms, instead getting one of each to proudly show off when he is driving the streets of Miami. Each of the Phantoms cost Mayweather well over $300,000, before any tweaks or upgrades, adding nearly $1 million to the value of his collection of extravagant rides.

Ferrari 599 Spyder GTB and 458 Spyder

There are two Ferrari sports cars among Floyd Mayweather’s three monochromatic exotic and luxury car collections, one purchased for his own personal use and one given as a gift to his lady friend. The crowd favorite among Mayweather’s mini-fleet of exotic Ferraris is his white Ferrari 599 Spyder GTB. Valued at nearly half a million dollars, the white super car is highlighted with little touches of red throughout the interior, but generally adheres to the boxer’s well known “all white everything” vehicle styling preferences. The other Ferrari parked in Mayweather’s fleet is a nearly matching white 458 Spyder. This car was given to an unknown girlfriend of the athlete’s, which would explain why the usual choice of white interior was changed to a bright cherry red in the 458. Both cars are kept side by side in Mayweather’s collection, or are photographed as such generally, so it appears that the gift he gave was as much for his own enjoyment as it was for his mysterious lady.

Floyd Mayweather is a highly paid professional boxer and surprisingly successful sporting event gambler who has made a big name for himself as an extremely extravagant spender. He is known to only wear a pair of shoes once and carry an intense amount of cash on him while traveling, but it is his three separate fleets of luxurious and exotic rides that really set him apart as a big spending sports star.
