It’s true that a car is primarily for getting you, your friends and your family to and from destinations. It’s an essential tool for commuting to work, and can also provide you with a way to travel and explore new places. That said, it’s also nice when your car elevates your appearance.

For a long time, luxury cars have been unattainable for the everyday driver. However, between choosing to purchase a used car and newer car designs that replicate the best that luxury vehicles have to offer—it’s easier than ever to get a sweet ride. If you are looking for a luxurious ride at an affordable price, here are some makes and models you won’t want to miss.

The Top Luxury-Inspired Used Rides

As with any used car, the more recent the model year, the more chance you have of a good, solid investment. Look for used vehicles with low mileage, solid service records and clean titles. Do your research on value using sites like Edmunds.com or Kelley Blue Book. In general, when buying used, you want to try and find cars that are no older than 7 to 10 years depending on its features and reviews. Also look for cars that hold value and are relatively affordable to maintain and repair.

More Expensive Used Luxury Cars

  • Audi Q7 – The Audi Q7 consistently gets good reviews from numerous auto resources. Not only does this performance-savvy crossover have decent mileage, even the basic model is filled with all the bells and whistles you could want. The Audi name has long been associated with luxury, and driving down the road in a Q7 will make you feel like a million bucks.
  • Lexus RX 350 – The RX 350 is considered a midsize luxury SUV. Filled with Lexus’s signature details, the RX 350 holds its value well. 2010 through 2014 are currently the most affordable model years.
  • Mercedes Benz S Class – Although Mercedes are typically known for higher repair fees, a well-maintained Mercedes is worth its weight in gold. The S Class can often be found with single-owner histories and lower miles, and you can find excellent deals on slightly older models, especially considering the new models retail for around $96,000.
  • Volvo S60 – The Volvo S60 is a surprisingly affordable entry into the luxury car market. Loaded with excellent features, nice finishes and a powerful performance, the S60 is your ticket to luxury without the high price tag. Models between 2012 and 2014 are probably the most approachable in pricing for the average car buyer.

Middle-Priced Used Luxury-Inspired Cars

  • Buick Verano – The Buick what? Many haven’t heard of the Verano, thinking that Buick disappeared somewhere back in the 70s. But Buick is still kicking and makes an excellent sedan that oozes luxury without breaking the bank. With its pricing, a used Verano with all the options is doable for many in the market for a nice car.
  • Ford Explorer – The Ford Explorer has become a sought after used vehicle because of its reliability and good looks. It is also an excellent choice for those who need more room to haul both passengers and cargo. Its snappy appearance will definitely get you noticed.
  • Hyundai Genesis – Hyundai has the best warranty in the industry, and has swiftly built a reputation for quality. The Genesis is one of its most under-appreciated models. It offers the ultimate in luxury at a good price.
  • Mazda CX-5 – The CX-5 is a great way to get into a sweet-looking crossover for less than the average amount. Mazda lends its trademark Zoom Zoom!, and the overall look and comfort stands out in a crowd.

Affordable Used Luxury-Inspired Cars

These smaller rides make it easier to afford the highest-end model with the most features. But even with the base models, you’ll get good-looking vehicles with nice lines and a luxurious feel. They also maximize fuel economy, give a sporty edge and make it easier to get a used car from a more recent model year.
